Teaching and learning
This practice-focused, applied course will begin with the theoretical and applied principles of language acquisition and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). You’ll work towards applying your knowledge in practice, experiencing real-life EAL settings.
The course places EAL teaching within a rapidly changing, globalised socio-cultural context. You’ll study heritage language learning and the sociological aspects of global Englishes, including issues such as social justice and inclusion.
You’ll be taught by experienced tutors with expertise in multilingual language acquisition, working with migrants, materials development, and digital pedagogy.
Discover all there is to know about the course, from entry requirements and fees to exploring the school you’ll be joining - we’ve got it covered.
There’s a lot to consider when choosing a course. Take a look at the team you’ll be working with, employability statistics and career prospects to help make up your mind.
At Leeds Beckett your experience is important to us, find out more about what to expect from your time on this course and life at uni.
