Facilities and services

Information for colleagues about access to facilities including the libraries, sports facilities, food outlets and the mail service.

Plus Icon Is the library open?

The Library continues to support staff and students during the Coronavirus crisis, maintaining systems and providing remote and online access to services. The following support is available:

Library Academic Support are offering online learning and support for students, including weekly online drop-ins and is handling staff research queries.

The Digital Learning Service has online guides for university systems, including choosing an online meeting tool for teaching and learning activities. You can contact the team using the details below or visit the Digital Learning Service webpage for regularly updated academic continuity guidance:

Library and Student IT Advice can help students access Remote App and other systems to be able to study from home. They also deal with IT queries, including password resets and queries about returning books.

As well as existing electronic resources publishers are offering additional free material accessible via the Library Database A-Z pages and students and staff can also request new eBooks.

The Library website also continues to provide information on all our services, with a dedicated coronavirus webpage listing the availability of key services.

Plus Icon Are the sports facilities open?

Leeds Beckett University sports facilities are closed until further notice. We will continue to update all customers and will re-open at the earliest possible opportunity.

The Sports & Active Lifestyles team, however, are offering free live fitness classes on Facebook that are being delivered by our instructors from their homes.

Plus Icon Is the mail service still operating?

The Mail Rooms at Headingley and City Campus remain closed until further notice. Mail received is being stored securely at each campus via both security receptions.

Colleagues are advised to make alternative arrangements for mail where possible.

If business critical items have been delivered to the university, please make arrangements for collection from either the James Graham or Leslie Silver Security desks. Please consider carefully what is classed as business critical.

Plus Icon Can I get food on campus?

Regrettably we can no longer maintain a grab and go service at our food courts and these will remain shut to all students and staff from Tuesday 24 March until further notice.
