Works are now complete on a new expansion at the Carnegie Stand building, Headingley Campus, for the Leeds International Study Centre (LISC). To accommodate their increasing student numbers, the Centre has now expanded onto three floors at the Carnegie Stand, with a range of teaching and office spaces across the first and second floor of the building, as well as a new common room area for students on the ground floor.
The works have seen the creation of four new teaching spaces on the second floor, which replicate the existing teaching rooms on the first floor. These rooms are fully equipped with dual screen AV and brand new furniture. It has also seen the creation of a new open plan staff office on the second floor. The new office area is a much bigger and brighter space and its improved layout has significantly enhanced the working environment.
In addition, the ground floor café has now been transformed into a new common room space for students. The space has been fitted out with a range of comfy, contemporary furniture and will serve as a break-out space for all Leeds Beckett students.
