Works complete on new-look Headingley Library

Works are now complete on the £300k refurbishment of the Headingley Library, which has created a more interactive and supportive study environment for students and visitors.

Works complete on new look Headingley Library

The works, which began mid-July, have involved a major revamp of the ground floor, as well as the addition of a brand new disability resource area and 8 new student meeting rooms across the ground and first floors.

The ground floor now utilises a new open plan design which has maximised the seating capacity and improved access to the library's services and facilities. New Library and IT advice areas will also enable students to get support quicker and easier, whilst new one-to-one consultation spaces will allow them to access more in-depth advice.

The project also included the provision of new reception counters for each of the library’s core services, bespoke furniture and redecoration of the walls and flooring, which have created a brighter and more attractive learning space. The new student meeting rooms which are located on the ground and first floor also provide a range of modern and innovative spaces for both group and individual study.
