Laggards, Leaders and Some Implications for Innovation Eco-Systems
Britain is a leader in innovation – ranked second in the Global Innovation Index. However, when it comes to productivity, growth remains persistently weak.

As small businesses account for over 90 percent of businesses in local and national economies, part of the problem and the solution lies, at least to some extent, with them. On the one hand, small businesses are seen to be at the forefront of innovation and economic renewal; on the other, they can be seen to be slow to adopt technology, innovate and grow.

In his lecture, David covered more than 20 years of research with entrepreneurs to explore some of the challenges that this paradox brings.
