Accelerating Innovation to Transform the Construction Industry

The construction industry’s attitude towards and understanding of innovation; how innovation can be triggered and managed effectively, are critical to a more strategic investment and management of innovation (Dulaimi 1996).

The industry is under significant pressure to transform itself into a smarter, more advanced industry. This involves deployment of the latest technologies and practices needed to create a smart living and working environment.

In this professorial inaugural lecture, Professor Dulaimi will present his research that examined innovation dynamics at corporate and team levels to enable management, professionals and practitioners in the construction industry to reduce the time needed to realise successful innovation.

Mohammed Dulaimi is Professor in the School of Built Environment & Engineering at Leeds Beckett University.

This lecture is part of Leeds Beckett University's Professorial Inaugural Lecture Series.
