LanguagED, pronounced [ˈlæŋgwɪdʒˈed], by Carnegie School of Education works with individuals, organisations, and companies to develop and provide outstanding modern foreign languages education that is exciting, innovative, and fun. We offer high-quality learning opportunities through our face-to-face and online programmes and access to a community of people who wish to learn one or more modern foreign languages or are just interested in finding out more about cultures, languages, and communication in modern societies.
Our Language Taster workshops introduce students to a language, covering very basic vocabulary and grammar as well as associated cultural aspects, such as history and the arts. Typically, Language Tasters have a duration of between one and two hours. Teaching will be in English. They are suitable for any students who have an interest in languages and want to know more about how languages work or would like to ‘try out’ a language that they have always wanted to study. Provisional Language Tasters for 2021-2022 are planned for our main languages French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish, as well as languages we do not currently teach, e.g. Arabic, Farsi, Basque and Scottish Gaelic.
