Travel options week
The Sustainability team are running two events in March to help Leeds Beckett staff and students understand the range of options they have for journeys to the University and between campuses.
- Monday 18th March Headingley Campus, 10am-2pm - Campus Central Student Hub
- Thursday 21st March City Campus, 10am 2pm –Rose Bowl Atrium
We will be joined by the following organisations who will be happy to talk to you about what they can offer:
LBSU Cycling society
A chance to meet members of the new student cycling society. They are looking for more people who want to get involved in organised cycling activities.
Information about Leeds bus services and particularly those services that run to and between our campuses.
Leeds Beckett staff can hire a bicycle and accessories through a salary "reduction" system. The scheme allows you to make payments from your gross salary, thus making a saving by paying reduced income tax and national insurance. Representatives from Cycle Scheme will be there to help you understand how this scheme could work for you.
Information about rail season tickets. Staff members can get weeks of free travel if they buy in advance. Students can benefit from rail cards as well as other train related information and news about local service developments.
Safer Roads Leeds
Are part of Leeds City Council, they promote and support safe and sustainable travel choices for people in Leeds.
The Sustainability Team
Information about our student bike hire offers and our range of E-Bikes for staff. We can help you with secure storage for your bike, give you info on lockers and showers on campus and give you details about the staff and student shuttle buses.
Love to Ride
Is an app based platform that allows you to log your bike rides and have a chance of winning some great prizes.
Share North have helped us fund and develop our electric bike fleet (E-Bikes). Members of staff who try one of our new bikes during their working day or for their commute will be eligible for a free lunch. Perhaps there is such a thing as a free lunch after all?
