The Research and Enterprise conference is an opportunity for all research-active members of staff, and those who would like to become research-active, to celebrate and grow our vibrant research community.
The conference will be a chance to meet other researchers, network, and find out about the opportunities available across the University to get the most out of your research outputs.

Professor Andrew Slade will present a keynote talk around the new Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the changes implemented for the 2021 REF.

We welcome external speaker, Dr Ged Hall who will be discussing the Design and Evaluation of Impact. This will be followed by the Libraries & Learning Innovation Research Services team, who will be speaking about maximising impact with Symplectic.
Supporting Research Students
The Graduate School will share insight on best practice for supervisors and experiences of a member of staff studying a PhD.
The Game of (Research Funding) Life
Find out more about research funding and the peer review processes in this talk, and how to prepare a funding proposal.
Open for Business
Peter O'Brien from Yorkshire Universities will discuss the Industrial strategy; and Andrew Marran and Jo Griffiths will speak about spin-outs and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).
Spread the Word & Collaborate
Dr Bill Davies will share how to build effective partnerships; followed by Dee Reid who will discuss promoting your research. Katie Rigarlsford will give insight into the University Business Centres and how they act as a platform for regional engagement.

Research by Design
Professor Robert Shail and Professor Simon Morris will be discussing Practice as Research in the Creative Arts in the final session of the day.

There will be a showcase event running from 11:30 to 14:00 in the Rose Bowl atrium. Come and find out more about the research and enterprise projects taking place across our university.
