Introduction by Professor Jeanne Keay, Pro Vice Chancellor of Global Engagement

I am delighted to welcome you to Global Celebration Week. This week is a celebration of our fantastic global events, many of which are being held in partnership with the Students' Union.

We have organised plenty of exciting events for you to get involved in. These include the Diversity Fashion Show and a Japanese cultural evening. You will also have chance to take part in Student Volunteering Week - learn about working with guide dogs or organise an event in a care home!

There are two larger events that I would recommend attending. The International Volunteering Fair is on Tuesday 11 February - you can come along to learn more about overseas volunteering opportunities. The Study Abroad fair is taking place on Thursday 13 February. You can meet students who studied abroad last year and learn more about their experience.

It may be that spending some time overseas is not possible for you. Howwever, I'd still encourage you to take part in as many activities as you can. Take the opportunity to celebrate our global campus!

I hope you enjoy the week and I look forward to seeing you on campus.

Best wishes,
Professor Jeanne Keay
