Give or Take – Freecycle Shop Launch

Celebrate the launch of our new Freecycle Centre at Headingley campus! A brand new student led-initiative offering ‘Pay As You Feel’ clothing, household items, books, DVDs and more. Food will be supplied by our Eco Soup kitchen. We will be showcasing our sustainability society, student-led allotment group and our Veg Society. Are you passionate about community involvement and social care? We need your help for a very special one-off event working with care home residents in Headingly. We will be running a celebration for the residents making cocktails and getting to know more about their experiences and past. We have a variety of roles from mixologist to tea making and everything else in between. Even if you just want to get to know a resident and alleviate a little loneliness then you have all the skills you need for this opportunity. Learn more on the website.

Become a Dementia Friend

A Dementia Friend is somebody that learns about dementia so they can help their community. Too many people affected by dementia feel that society fails to understand the condition they live with. Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding, so that people living with dementia can continue to live in the way they want. Come along and get a taster of what it is like to volunteer with Pyramid with their Eden Group. The International Students Club is a FREE club/cafe which meets every Wednesday. It is open to all global students in Leeds.  Each week starts with tea/coffee with toast & cake, with different themes or events each week. On 12th February they will be running a Japanese Culture evening. This is a great way to make friends and practice speaking other languages! No need to book, just turn up.
