Introduction

Introduction by Professor Jeanne Keay

As Pro Vice Chancellor of Global Engagement, I am delighted to welcome you to our annual Global Engagement Week here at Leeds Beckett University, in partnership with Leeds Beckett Students' Union. This event provides us with a great opportunity to promote and celebrate some of the fantastic opportunities we have for students and staff.

To show our commitment to developing students who are globally engaged, whether this is through their course or extra-curricular opportunities, we have organised some exciting events - from the Diversity Fashion Show through to an international folk concert.

Two of the larger events this week are the Study Abroad and International Volunteering Fairs. I would recommend you go along to these events and see what overseas opportunities we have for you. It may be that a period of time overseas is not possible for you, but I would still encourage you to get involved in as many activities as possible this week and really grasp the opportunity to see what being globally engaged can mean for you.

I hope you enjoy the week and I look forward to seeing you on campus.

Best wishes

Professor Jeanne Keay
