Graduate Success Stories

Nicholas Renn Nichol
From an early age Nick took a keen interest in humanitarian aid and international support, and knew he wanted to get involved in aid efforts across the world.

Nick was introduced to the course through a friend who was interested in going to our University. The content of the course caught his eye and, not only matched the areas that he wanted to specialise in, but he knew it was a course he would enjoy studying. It allowed him to develop his ideas and provided him with a global perspective of logistics and field work required in humanitarian support.

Nick gained valuable experience through the course’s volunteering module, where he was fortunate enough to visit Pakistan. He says it allowed him to gain first-hand experience and cement his career as a field worker. His studies on the course helped him complete his training modules at Save the Children and were invaluable to his progression.

He says: “The course allowed me the freedom to explore how charities are run and how ethics are imposed within the organisation. Subsequently this gave me the motivation and inspiration to set up my own charity.”

Nick is the director of AptART, his own charity organisation, which creates art pieces that raise funds for third world countries.
