Enrolling on your course

Student writing while in a seminar

Before you can start your course at Leeds Beckett you will need to complete our enrolment process.

If you require a visa or other type of immigration permission to study in the UK, you will also need to complete ‘International Check-In’ (passport and visa / immigration document check) in order to fully enrol on your course. Instructions on how to do this will be emailed to you.

On this page you'll find all the information you need about how to enrol on your course.

Your enrolment part one – Online

This is the first part of your enrolment and you will do this by logging into our Online Welcome system.

This is where you officially register with us as a student. You are required to confirm your personal details, such as address, emergency contacts and how you will pay your fees. It is vital to ensure that your term time and home address details are accurate, failure to do this may result in you missing important communications. You can find a full list of our halls of residence postcodes on this page. When inputting address details, please copy these directly from your accommodation contract.

You will also be required to upload copies of your valid passport, birth certificate, and your visa documents. We are unable to accept a driving license as a form of identification.

You will need to select the relevant document type and provide the document reference number, for example the passport number or birth certificate/adoption certificate application number.

If you experience any issues enrolling, please contact welcome@leedsbeckett.ac.uk or ring 0113 812 5310.

Your enrolment part two - International Check-in

You will complete your enrolment at Leeds Beckett University when you attend International Check-in.

You will need to bring the following documents with you to International Check-in and ensure you have also uploaded them onto your Welcome account beforehand:

  • Passport
  • Biometric Residence Permit (if you are collecting your BRP from a Post Office)
  • UKVI BRP collection letter (if collecting from the university)
  • CAS letter
  • Leeds Beckett student ID

You will need to collect your BRP from the Post Office before attending International check-in. If your BRP is being delivered to the university, you will be sent an email from the SIAC team which confirms we have received your BRP and where to collect it from. International check-in will be completed at the same time. Please only attend if you have received confirmation via email that we have received your BRP or you have already collected it from the Post Office.

If you have already collected your BRP from the Post Office, then you should attend international check-in at the City Campus. More details will be emailed to you by the Student Immigration Advice & Compliance (SIAC) team.

International arrival and check-in International check-in is an important part of your enrolment process. Watch this video to see what's involved!

download your induction timetable

Your induction timetable can be downloaded via our Online Welcome system.

Course induction is compulsory for all students, it ensures you receive all the key information you need to begin your studies. It is also a great opportunity to meet your course team, meet new friends, and find out more about the wide range of resources and services available to you.

Teaching timetables will be made available to students during Welcome and Induction via the student portal (MyBeckett).

Your course team will talk you through when and how to access it. You should discuss any difficulties relating to your engagement with timetabled sessions with your Course Administrator.

log into my beckett and set up your mult-factor authentication (MFA)

When you have completed all the tasks on the Online Welcome portal, including your enrolment, you will receive your University Log In Details (‘c’ number e.g. c123456 and password). Use these to log into MyBeckett (my.leedsbeckett.ac.uk) which gives you access to your modules, timetables, reading lists, email, personal storage and more.

When you log into MyBeckett for the first time you will be asked to choose your own password and set up Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). MFA, sometimes called two-step authentication, is an additional security measure to protect access to university systems and services. This means that you have to provide another method of identification, after entering your username and password, before being able to access university systems and services.

You must log in to MyBeckett on a PC or Laptop, not a tablet or mobile device. If you only have a mobile device please contact Library and Student IT Advice.

Please don’t try to log into any university apps before completing this process.

You should add the following authentication methods when registering:

  • Authenticator app – download the app to your smart phone when prompted.
  • Phone – add your mobile phone number when prompted.
