WHAT IS LARC?
The Leeds Arts Research Centre (LARC) brings together creative practitioners and academics across Leeds Beckett University whose research interests lie in the arts, whether that is music, film, fine art, design or performing arts.
LARC draws on staff from the Leeds School of Arts. It brings together cultural historians and theorists with arts practitioners at the cutting edge of practice as research. Providing a forum for debate, it is also a window on the exciting and innovate creative work going on across the two Schools. Here staff collaborate on new projects, showcase their research outputs (REF Units 32 & 33) and build together the research culture of the Leeds Beckett University. This is the place where creative minds gather and where ideas grow.
Work has started on the New £80 Million Leeds School of Arts building. The building will provide a new home for the School of Film, Music& Performing Arts, as well as our School of Art, Architecture & Design's fashion provision.

Promoting gender equality in the workplace.
We have as a University just been awarded the Bronze award so we will be working on putting up a couple of short films by some of our academics who raise issues of gender equality in their work.
