Matthew Wilson
Senior Lecturer
Matthew is Course Leader for development courses for language teachers. He teaches on Masters courses for TESOL and our International Foundation Year. He also delivers in-sessional English language support for international students.
Matthew has worked in a variety of teaching contexts, in France, Spain, Saudi Arabia and the UK. He is an experienced English Language teacher and trainer and has taught Spanish and French in the UK secondary sector.
He leads courses in Professional Development for English language Teachers with a particular focus on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). He is also currently involved in the development and delivery of face-to-face and online courses in TESOL, in TEAP and in TEAL.

Research Interests
Matthew’s current research is focused on the discourse around language learning in national politics, national media and public fora and how this discourse might relate to attitudes toward teaching and learning languages.
