Institute of Directors
Leeds Beckett University has developed a number of different courses with the IoD. In addition we are developing research areas around the capacity and virtues of the Director.
The Centre for Governance, Leadership and Global Responsibility is a member of PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education).
PRME provides a global network for academic institutions to advance corporate sustainability and social responsibility, and an engagement framework for the incorporation of universal values into curricula and research. As such, the Centre works to implement, within the University, the following six Principles:
All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group
The Centre is a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group (APCRG) . Its purpose is to promote debate and understanding of corporate social responsibility within Parliament. It seeks to achieve this by promoting an exchange of views between Parliamentarians and people with an active interest in corporate responsibility.
UN Global Compact – UK Network
The Centre is a member of the UN Global Compact, UK Network. The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan, launched the UN Global Compact in 2000 to harness the power of collective action in the promotion of responsible corporate citizenship. The Global Compact provides a framework of ten principles in four different categories – human rights, labour standards, the environment & anti-corruption – within which companies are invited to manage their operations.
