BA (Hons) Dance
BA (Hons) Dance offers students the opportunity to explore and develop an innovative and exciting dance practice relevant to today. In support of this students engage with a subject–specific focus alongside a wider more interdisciplinary approach to choreographing, performing and researching. Students are informed by regular dance technique classes, choreographic and creative workshops, lectures and seminars, engaging with industry and research: they have the opportunity to immerse themselves within the discipline. Through these diverse experiences and opportunities this heavily practical programme of study aims to support students who aspire to become for example, dance artists, teachers, or arts facilitators within the creative industries. Through engagement with a highly experienced team of artist scholars, visiting industry professionals and peers, students are encouraged to become curious, ask questions and develop independence as they move through their studies in readiness for graduation and employment. The breadth of work presented here on the Leeds School of Arts Festival website evidences the knowledge, skill and articulacy developed by the students throughout their time at Leeds Beckett.
