Research
research in the school of arts
As a school we support the University's commitment to building a reputation for research.
Research in the Leeds School of Arts at Leeds Beckett University is supported through LARC: the Leeds Arts Research Centre which is co-directed by Professor Simon Morris & Professor Robert Shail. LARC sponsors a whole range of activities including conferences, symposiums, lectures, sabbaticals and exhibitions.
We also work closely with The School of Built Environment, Engineering & Computing to develop research in the area of architecture, built environment and planning. Our research is organised through groups and clusters that focus on providing high quality research activity and outputs across a range of disciplinary areas.
Research Degrees
We welcome applications for PhD and MPhil study across the creative arts, including via practice. We offer a new Professional Doctorate in Creative Arts which allows those employed in the creative sector to pursue research relevant to their work place. We also offer PhD opportunities in Architecture, Lanscape, interior and Urban Studies.
