Lift Off Festival

BA Hons Dance Image 3

An intense period of Dance and Performance making, resulting in 30 diverse works presented on live and digital stages as the culmination of 3 years of study

All students in their final year of study across Dance, Theatre and Performance, and Performing Arts were invited to devise their ultimate project to be shared in the Lift Off Festival. Mentored by in-house artists and tutors the students worked independently and/or collaboratively, co-choreographing and devising works alongside musicians and in-house lighting designers within the exciting new theatre and cinema spaces in the Leeds School of Arts Building.

The Festival brought to life our new spaces within the Leeds School of Arts building situated in the centre of Leeds.  The range of work presented include dance to camera, durational one to one performance,  theatre ensemble practices, audio performance, and live dance work. The students had the opportunity not only to make their own work, but to perform in the works of peers, host the works as front of house, support the festival as an audience and assist with technical support, providing skills relevant and necessary to working within the creative industries.
