Project Office @ Leeds Beckett University

Project Office is a design and research collaboration of staff and students. It is an architecture consultancy making ethical, social and resilient architecture. We work with like-minded communities, organisations and individuals.

1966 - 2016: 50 Years of Landscape at Leeds Beckett

We are proud to have celebrated 50 years of landscape architecture at Leeds Beckett University. It was a time to reflect on the achievements of the course and it's graduates and pointed the way forward to the creative challenges that lie ahead.

Professional Experience and Development Record

The Leeds School of Architecture offers a PEDR Monitoring Service to all BA (Hons) Architecture and M Arch graduates. This is a professional experience monitoring in support of the pathway to registration or licensure, primarily with the ARB.

Keith Andrews, Senior Lecturer -

Keith is Deputy Head of the Leeds School of Architecture, coordinator of postgraduate architectural technology, and the course leader of the MA Architecture. He also directs the MArch (Master of Architecture) studio Abstract Machine.

Dr Doreen Bernath, Senior Lecturer

Doreen is the course leader of the BA (Hons) Architectural Studies, the coordinator of undergraduate architectural history and theory and a PhD supervisor at the Leeds School of Arts.

Jess Bryne-Daniel, Senior Lecturer

With over 25 years experience in practice Jess has been involved in a wide range of landscape projects. She balances design creativity with pragmatism to achieve meaningful designs of relevance to their locality and the people who use them.


Trudi Entwistle, Senior Lecturer

Trudi Entwistle is a senior lecturer in Landscape Architecture and Level 4 and 6 coordinator. Her particular teaching interests lie in the exploration of place through art and design, and the crossing of boundaries within landscape architecture through interdisciplinary teaching. Research interests lie around site, memory, association and place. Trudi Entwistle is a practising artist working in the public realm. Her artwork lies between land art, sculpture and design.

Dr Alia Fadel, Lecturer

Dr. Alia Fadel is an educator, architect and landscape architect, biophilic design consultant, and ethnographic observation specialist in urban settings and collegiate campuses. Her teaching and practical experience extends to include notable international academic institutions in Egypt, USA, and UK.


Ian Fletcher, Senior Lecturer

Ian Fletcher holds a position as a Senior Lecturer in Architecture in the School of Arts, Architecture and Design. Ian received his Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree in 2007 from Azrieli School of Architecture & Urbanism at Carleton University in Canada. He also received a MA in Architecture and Urbanism in 2008 and Bachelor of Architecture in 2009 from the Manchester School of Architecture in the United Kingdom. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in the School of Built Environment and Engineering at Leeds Beckett University. His research focuses mainly on utilising agricultural, construction and demolition waste streams for developing bio-based building materials.

Claire is the course leader of the BA (Hons) Architecture. She leads a design studio, lectures in architectural history and theory and is a PhD supervisor.

John MacCleary joined Leeds Beckett as Course Director for Landscape Architecture in 2018. He primarily teaches the post-graduate students bringing his practice experience, knowledge of construction and environment led design approach to the students and the course.

Anna Pepe, Senior Lecturer

Anna joined our University in 2007, having previously studied and worked in Venice and Milan, and has a background in both architecture and architectural technology. Her teaching expertise includes history and theory of architecture, and the design, construction and communication of building projects. Anna’s research activities and interests are related to design and sustainability, the impact of new media on the technical information for construction industry professionals and the way architecture is envisioned and communicated.
