Dr Thomas Purcell
Thomas F. Purcell is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at Leeds Beckett University. Previously, he was Sub-Director of the National Strategy Centre for the Right to Territory (CENEDET) based at the Instituto de Altos Estudios Nacionales, Ecuador.
Dr Joseph Ibrahim
Joseph is a political sociologist who has research interests in social and political theory, political mobilisations, collective action and community values. His research to date has been focused on the political culture and dynamics of consensus and conflict within groups, and his areas of expertise straddle sociology and politics.
Dr. Christopher Byrne is a Lecturer in Politics in the School of Social Sciences. He researches and teaches British political history, political leadership, the UK Parliament, and contemporary political theory. Recent research projects include studies of the effect of neoliberal thought on the structure of British central government, the political afterlives of Members of Parliament, and the merits of Prime Minister's Questions as a means of democratic accountability.
Dr Neil Washbourne
Neil Washbourne teaches and researches in media studies mostly on the BA (Hons) Media, Commuciation, Cultures and the MA Media and Culture. His work focusses on the critical study of comedy and celebrity, past and present. he teaches option modules in both as well as a level 4 module, BBC Radio: cultural talk, and public purposes.
Dr Sophia Price
Sophia Price is Head of Politics and International Relations at Leeds Beckett University and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She previously worked for the Open University and the University of Manchester, where she completed her ESRC funded PhD on the European Union’s relations with Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific Group.
