Student Sustainability Conference - what to expect

Leeds Beckett University’s first Student Sustainability Conference is taking place on Tuesday 19 November on our City Campus, find out what you can expect from the presenters.
Jayne’s final project SEAsoning aims to lower carbon emissions, reduce plastic littler, cut food waste and improve gut health by being edible, compostable and a transparent bioplastic made from potato starch and seaweed.
‘Whose Heirloom?’ is a sustainable graduate collection that focuses on tackling landfill and discussing the importance of emotional relationships with our clothing. Within the presentation, Dominic will talk about his journey designing and creating his graduate collection and also his personal morals and shopping habits.
Having grown up on a Swiss farm, Kathrin learned from a young age how important it is to take care of our natural environment. Together with her curiosity for different cultures and places, tourism seemed like a suitable career path. She has previously lived and worked in Canada, Chile and most recently Arctic Norway.
