Leeds Law School was delighted to host Law Enrichment Week for its third successive year during which we welcomed over 15 employers. Students dressed to impress during a speed networking event, spoke to an array of legal and non-legal employers, developed their academic skills, and visited law firms and a barristers’ chambers.
Maariyah Badat, a level 6 LLB student, enjoyed the week, commenting that:
“…the speed networking event was really insightful. I managed to receive a lot of helpful information in relation to the steps to take post graduation.
The mediation event held by Jones Myers was really exciting to be a part of as I myself want to be a family lawyer; it revealed to me a aspects of what being a family lawyer consists of.
The events gave us the chance to ask professionals questions to help us in our applications.”
Louisa Riches, Course Director, was proud of the way students got involved in what are often intimidating situations:
“Our Law Enrichment Week, which opened on Monday 29 October 2018, was yet again a chance for our excellent students to shine. During the week, they had the opportunity to be trained in and to practice their networking skills, observe legal practice in action in court and in the offices of various law firms, and to hone their academic skills. The event closed on Friday 2 November with Insight Days at Park Square Barristers and Oakwood Solicitors.
Students and stakeholders have been very enthusiastic about the week and all of us within the Law School would like to thank again all those that worked hard to make the week such a success.”
