Remembrance Day at Leeds Beckett University

At 11:00 on Monday 11 November, millions across the country will observe a two-minute silence as part of the annual act of remembrance.

As part of this year’s commemorations, the Poppy Flag will fly above the James Graham building, with many students and colleagues choosing to wear the red poppy in support of the Royal British Legion.

Our Chaplain, Reverend Melvyn Kelly, will lead a short, informal act of remembrance at 10:45 at the War Memorial in the James Graham Building at Headingley Campus, followed by the observance of a two-minute silence at 11:00.  All are welcome to attend.

If you are not able to attend, please do try to pause wherever you are and whatever you are doing to keep silence at 11:00 for two minutes.

This period of silence is an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who lost their lives in both world wars and in armed conflicts since 1945.
