Introduction

Over this 3 hour practical workshop we will be covering the basics needed to edit and produce a video for social media using video editing platform DaVinci Resolve.

Suitable for

This is ideal for anyone who wants to get up and running quickly with the basic editing tools and techniques to produce social media videos quickly and at very low cost by using a free version of DaVinci Resolve.

Prerequisites

This is an online workshop and so you will require an internet connection, basic computer skills, a microphone and speakers (a webcam is optional). It is also preferable to have 2 screens, one screen to watch and follow along, and a second screen which should be running DaVinci Resolve. The free version is all you will need and can be downloaded from the Blackmagic Design website here (scroll to the bottom of the page).

What I will Learn?

By the end of this practical workshop you will be able to evaluate media files, make selections, arrange those selections on a timeline, use powerful basic tools, add basic transitions, titles and music. You will also be able to focus your clips and export your final films ready for upload.

The workshop is conducted virtually using the video conferencing software Eyeson.
