Operating theatre with simulation equipment

Our state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Suite has been designed to meet the learning needs of a variety of health professionals, with specialist equipment in purpose-built rooms enabling a variety of sessions to be carried out in a suitable and safe environment. Features of the suite include:

  • Our purpose-built community living area features a kitchen, living space, bathroom, bed and a wide range of adapted equipment to enable users to simulate real life scenarios and gain hands on experience
  • Dedicated practice rooms provide hands on learning in electrotherapy, massage, heat therapy and cardio vascular and respiratory testing
  • A simulation room which has a dedicated clinical space, viewing and control rooms, featuring a high-fidelity patient simulator, a critical-care profiling bed, theatre lighting and an emergency call system

School of Clinical and Applied Sciences

Our work is focused on those aspects of the health sector that contribute to the health of the whole body. These disciplines include physiotherapy, sports therapy, nutrition and dietetics, occupational therapy, environmental health, health and safety, and biomedical sciences. Most of our courses are accredited by a professional body - which demand an environment of high quality and progression into a range of professional careers; based on the university-based studies and associated work-based experiences our graduates have excellent employment rates in their chosen careers.
