Defining Adolescent Activity Space

Challenge And approach

This study aims to investigate adolescent (14-18 years old) activity environment. Using accelerometers, GPS, and GIS, the project aims to determine where and when physical activity behaviour is occurring and investigate potential environmental influences, in hopes to determine possible leverage points for increasing physical activity levels.

Patient and public involvement

Local schools in West Yorkshire have provided feedback on the project and will receive results from the the study to inform on age specific physical activity levels and how active the school environment is. Participants will include students from local schools in West Yorkshire.
