Neith Sentis

MA Filmmaking (2015)

Neith graduated from the Northern Film School in 2015 via the MA Filmmakers programme. Specialising in directing, Neith wrote and directed the celebrated short film In the Shadow of the Mountain during her final year at the Film School.

Shot on location in the Catalonian Pyrenees, the film has gone on to amass over twenty international awards including ‘Best International Short’ at Birmingham International Film Festival (2016) and the ‘Audience Award’ at Dirigo Film Festival UK (2016). It has been exhibited widely featuring at over 50 international film festivals worldwide.

Neith started out in the television industry as a news reporter after graduating in Broadcast Media at the University of Lleida, where she also studied advertising and public relations at UOC University. While in Spain Neith also directed and produced an edition of the contest-show “Llanterna Digital” (Digital Torch) for Lleida TV (2009). Neith’s undergraduate prize winning short- doc film Understanding the Normality was also broadcast on the Spanish national television and has gone on to find an international audience.

Neith currently has a production role on Emmerdale at ITV Studios in Leeds and is developing a feature film project which she will write and direct; she has another original short film in pre- production.
