From ‘Interesting’ to ‘Useful’; the Application of Sports Science to Real-World Problems

Sports Science research is interested in how the human body and mind responds and adapts to exercise. A current challenge within sports science is the translation of the research findings into policy and practice. Traditionally, sports have been reluctant to adopt new methods, practices and change. This in part may be due to how sports science research has both been conducted and shared with non-academic communities.

In this lecture, Ben shared the innovative research models that he has developed, which allow the findings of research to be applied to real-world problems, developing sport through sports science.
