Yann Tournesac | A longitudinal approach of tradeshow performance: making the best of event timescapes to build a new relationship deal among trade show stakeholders

Supervisors: Professor Emma Wood and Dr James Musgrave

Yann is a part-time off-shore PhD student in the UK Centre for Events Management.

My research is a longitudinal examination of trade show performance. I am exploring current timescape theories, focusing on the pre, live and post phases of trade shows. I am assessing the applicability of timescape theories to tradeshow performance, centralising stakeholder relations. I will map the nature and complexities of tradeshow stakeholders’ relations, focusing on visitor-organiser relations, visitor-exhibitor relations, and visitor-organiser-exhibitor relations. The events industry is experiencing exceptionally challenging conditions during the pandemic, and I intend to design a performance construct with strong managerial implications for navigating this and future crises.
