I lacked confidence and was nervous about going to Larkia but, once I got there, my ambassador made me feel really comfortable and welcome. At the end of the trip I gained confidence and actually made some new friends!

Due to current Public Health England guidelines, this project has taken a different form in the 2019/20 academic year. We expect that it will be delivered as normal in the 2020/21 academic year, subject to government guidance.

Larkia

Larkia is a programme designed for Year 10 and 11 female students from a South Asian background. The aim is to provide a supportive, inspiring and safe environment for them to find out more about higher education. The programme consists of a two-night residential event, which features interactive subject workshops, motivational speakers, creative technology and team-building events. Attending the Larkia programme helps students by increasing their confidence and self-belief. Our Student Ambassadors play a key role in this as some have similar backgrounds and experiences.
