Coaching RFU National Coaching Rugby Union Courses
- Courses start from as little as £15.00
Becoming a qualified coach has never been easier. The RFU in partnership with Carnegie Coach Education, are equipped to help you through the process and has a range of qualifications, courses, seminars and support services to help you fulfil your coaching potential.
High quality coaching at all levels is crucial to developing playing numbers and standards in England, so the RFU has a range of training options to suit people’s different coaching aspirations.
The foundation courses, such as Kids First Tag Rugby and Rugby Ready, are designed to help educate newcomers to the game and improve coaching of modified versions of the game.
The rest of the tiered qualification coaching structure – through levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 – develops coaching skills through progressive knowledge of coaching and the game of rugby union.
Continuous personal development courses are aimed at maintaining the currency and high level of rugby union knowledge and skills that a coach possesses. For example, up-to-date information sessions focused on continuity in attack or the lineout game will improve the depth of your coaching skills.
The RFU’s overall aim is to improve the quality of coaching through user-friendly, coach-orientated courses.
The Coach Development Officers (CDO), in conjunction with local Constituent Bodies and Rugby Development Officers (RDOs), also run a number of coaching development activities throughout the year with constant emphasis on providing opportunities to learn more about coaching rugby, regardless of coaching level.
