Sports

Cheerleading is a new and upcoming sport in the UK. Cheerleading consists of stunts, jumps, dance and tumbling as well as being great for those who love to perform. For those who are less comfortable performing in front of a crowd, becoming part of our Cheerleading team has improved confidence in our athletes both on and off the competition mat.
Carnegie Cheerleading has a nationwide reputation in university Cheerleading for being the team to watch for routines in our divisions. This comes from our close link to the All-Star programme Aviators Cheer, who compete at the Cheerleading World Championships in Florida each year.
Carnegie Cheerleading will encourage you to push yourself to achieve the most you can in the sport and allow you to learn, develop and perfect new skills. Alongside the training and competition element of cheerleading, you will be involved in one of the biggest social sports at the university. This means you can be involved in fun socials, tour and making friendships that will last a lifetime. The Competition team also hold a Gold Club Mark award.
Trials have concluded for this year's team places. Should you wish to trial next season please contact the club on the links in the next section.
Each successful athlete will need to purchase their own competition kit and shoes. An optional training kit will also be available for an extra cost.
Carnegie Cheerleading are 5 times National Champions. We are the third-largest club at the university, meaning we provide our athletes with many social opportunities which lead to strong friendships being built throughout your years on the team.
You do not need any previous experience to be part of Carnegie Cheerleading. We encourage anybody who would like the opportunity to build friendships and who has the desire to learn new skills to come to our taster session and consider joining our team.
Carnegie have two teams which train Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays at level up academy. Level up holds a full sprung floor, tumbling tracks and pits.
