Leeds Beckett's Golf Club is made up of two highly competitive squads and a large social golf following.
The first team are currently competing in Northern 1A of the British Universities and Colleges Sports (BUCS) leagues against other high quality university golf clubs from across England and Scotland. The second team competes in Northern 2B.
Our club plays at Horsforth Golf Club, who have strongly supported our club for several years.
We are one of the few mixed gender teams at the University and aim to be as welcoming and inclusive as possible. Our members regularly get together off the golf course for socials and events, with a variety of venues and themes that always prove to be highlights of the year.
Squads get to travel to a variety of top golf courses across the country for fixtures and we get fantastic value from our Athletic Union membership. Included in this, you will get regular access to PGA Professional Coaches at Horsforth Golf Club. We get to work with the coaches for an hour and a half every Sunday until Easter, and one-to-one sessions can be arranged at no extra cost.
Our club also gets together at least at least once a week for a friendly game and to get some practice in, giving opportunities to stake a claim for team selection the following week and keeping the guys and girls who haven’t made the squads the chance to stay involved.
Feel free to contact us on our social media accounts if you have any questions - which you can find in the 'how can I contact the club' tab.
If you are looking to join the club, you will need to bring your own clubs to training and events as we do not provide clubs, also please wear appropriate golfing attire.
- The second team gained promotion to the Northern 1A for the first time last year, making us the only University with two teams in the division.
- We get fantastic opportunities to play internationally renowned courses. For example, we got to play at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) last year, site of Open Championship wins for Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods.
- We have members from across the globe, including Oman and Mexico.
- Colin Montgomerie’s nephew is currently a member of the society, although currently on a year out working at his uncle’s course in Dubai.
