Senior Lecturer

Ben Mosley is a Senior Lecturer in the Leeds School of Arts specialising in Audio Engineering and Acoustics. He is Lead Tutor for the BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering course and teaches across a wide range of audio and acoustics modules.

Ben Mosley is a Senior Lecturer in the Leeds School of Arts specialising in Audio Engineering and Acoustics. He is Lead Tutor for the BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering course and teaches across a wide range of audio and acoustics modules. He is a member of the Institute of Acoustics, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and former Chair of the Audio Engineering Society UK Section.

Ben started his career as an audio installation engineer and has designed and installed recording studios and music technology suites for a range of private sector and educational institutions across the UK. He began his teaching career at New College Nottingham as course leader for the BA Sonic Arts and HND Music Production courses, joining Leeds Beckett in 2007. Ben has been course leader for the BSc (Hons) Music Technology and BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering courses, developing the latter. He currently leads modules in Spatial Audio, Sound Reproduction Systems, Audio Engineering Skills, Audio Engineering Project, Level 5 Project, Acoustics in Buildings and contributes to Audio Transducer Design and Live Sound.

Ben continues to work as an occasional recording engineer and acoustic consultant. His research interests lie in sustainability and pedagogy in audio and acoustics. He has contributed papers to Audio Engineering Society and Institute of Acoustics conferences and chaired the annual Audio Engineering Society student event, Up Your Output.

Research Interests

Ben's research interests lie in sustainability and pedagogy in audio and acoustics. He has contributed papers to Audio Engineering Society and Institute of Acoustics conferences, particularly on the topic of integrating sustainability into the curriculum in HE.
