About Ben Mosley
Ben Mosley is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering course in the School of Film, Music and Performing Arts. His specialist areas are acoustics, audio system design and environmental sustainability in audio.
After graduating from the University of Derby in 2002 with a 1st class degree in ‘Music Technology and Audio System Design’ Ben embarked on a varied career as a studio design, installation and maintenance engineer and studio recording engineer. He has designed and installed recording studios and music technology suites for a wide range of private and public sector clients and provided professional training for clients on a range of hardware and software. Alongside this he taught on a range of music courses at New College Nottingham, eventually taking on course leadership of the HND Music Production and BA (Hons) Sonic Arts courses there in a full-time role in 2005. In 2007 Ben joined Leeds Beckett University teaching mainly acoustics and engineering based modules on the music courses. He was Course Leader for the BSc (Hons) Music Technology course for 3 years before developing, and now leading, the BSc (Hons) Audio Engineering course. Ben has focussed on acoustics in recent years, completing the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control and providing consultancy services in acoustics. He is currently studying for a DEng in Sustainable and Green Practice in the Audio Industry with the Leeds Sustainability Institute (LSI).

Ben is currently studying for a DEng in Sustainable and Green Practice in the Audio Industry with the Leeds Sustainability Institute (LSI) and the outcomes of this will be a range of guidance and solutions for audio engineers working across a range of disciplines. Ben has presented several conference papers on his other main interest area of audio education in order to share good pedagogical practice in the area with other audio educators.
