Principal Lecturer

Ian Truelove is a Principal Lecturer in Art & Design. His research, which is predominately technology-led, explores the nature of material reality through creative practice.

Truelove's work draws on a broad range of art and design practices and is informed by philosophy, quantum theory and art history. He has a keen interest in investigating and subverting the latest technological developments, with a specific focus on augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. He regularly collaborates with established international artists, translating and extending their practice through the use of augmented reality. He frequently exhibits and publishes his technology-powered art, and is currently exploring new platforms and spaces for disseminating his human/AI/AR artworks.
