About Dr Michelle Dillon

Michelle joined Leeds Beckett University as a Senior Lecturer in Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy in August 2015. Prior to joining the Carnegie School of Sport Michelle held academic positions in the University of Limerick, in Dublin City University and in Mary Immaculate College (Ireland).

Michelle has presented and published nationally and internationally within the areas of Sport Pedagogy, including the fields of Outdoor and Adventure education.

Awards Michelle has received include the Young Scholar Award (AIESEP, World Congress, UA, New Zealand, 2014), Best Poster Award (AIESEP, World Congress, UL, Ireland, 2011). Teaching nominations include Presidents Award for Teaching and Learning (Dublin City University; 2013 and 2014).

Current Teaching

Michelle teaches primarily on the physical education degree programme at both undergraduate level. She teaches a range of pedagogy, critical issues in physical education/sport and outdoor/adventure education related modules.
