About Dr Oliver Price

Dr Oliver Price is a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology in the Carnegie School of Sport at Leeds Beckett University and Visiting Clinical Research Fellow in the School of Medicine, Leeds Institute of Medical Research at St James's, Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Leeds.

Oliver completed a BSc (Hons.) in Sport and Exercise Science and Masters of Research in Exercise Physiology at Nottingham Trent University (2007-10). He subsequently commenced employment as a Clinical Respiratory Physiologist at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust before completing his PhD in Exercise and Respiratory Physiology at Northumbria University (2011-14). His doctoral research evaluated the accuracy of diagnostic methods employed to detect airway dysfunction in physically active individuals and assessed the dissociation between self-report respiratory symptoms and objective physiological testing. He subsequently received post-doctoral research training in cardiovascular physiology at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, before joining Leeds Beckett University in 2015. Oliver was most recently awarded a prestigious European Respiratory Society (ERS) International Research Fellowship, where he received further specialist training in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Bispebjerg Hospital, Copenhagen.
