About Frances Chapman
Frances is Head of Subject- Nursing and Healthcare, responsible for a large portfolio of provision including BSc (Hons) Nursing courses, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Non-Medical prescribing, District Nursing and Specialist Community Public Health Nursing. Her role within the School includes Academic Integrity Lead, Chair of Mitigation Panels and Fitness to Practice Lead.
Frances joined the University in 2000 as a lecturer practitioner, combining her senior nursing role with supporting learning and teaching of pre-registration nursing students. After gaining her Post Graduate Certificate in Education she was awarded Teacher Fellow status by the University. Frances has a keen interest in teaching and learning and has been involved with a number of cross University projects including 'Sounds Good’, and Peer Observation of Teaching. Frances has presented at local, national and international conferences on a variety of subjects including; the first-year experience and use of games in teaching and learning.
Frances teaches on BSc (Hons) Nursing courses and provides bespoke sessions for all courses in the Shool on academic integrity.
Current research interests include student experiences of extenuating and mitigation processes.
