About Joy Ogbemudia
Joy joined Leeds Beckett University in 2019 after completing her PhD from the University of York, where she worked as a Graduate Assistant in the department of Sociology, teaching Introduction to Sociological Theories. She completed a BA in English Language, MSc in Human Resource Management, before going on to complete her PhD in Women's Studies.
Joy is a prolific academic whose interdisciplinary background has helped to build a robust teaching portfolio in different departments across the social sciences in Sociology, Social Works and Social Policy, Center for Long Life Learning and Human Resource Management.
She also engages in public speaking, especially with women and young adults.
