About Mark Hillier
Mark qualified as a Adult Nurse from the St Martin's University College in Lancaster. Mark specialised in Orthopaedic and Surgical nursing working for Morecambe Bay NHS hospitals Trust. Following this he moved into nurse education working as a Lectuer and Senior Lecturer for Leeds Metropolitan/Beckett University and the University of Salford.
Mark also works as an External Examiner for Glasgow Caledonian University for the Professional Studies CPD programme and has worked as a publication reviewer for Sage Publishing.
He is an experienced External Examiner with a demonstrated history of working in Higher Education Education. Skilled in Nursing Education, Lecturing, Academic Writing, Curriculum Development, and E-Learning. Strong media and communication professional Stduing a Professional Doctorate of Education (EdD) focused in An exploration into UK pre-registration nursing student's engagement with digital educational resources from Leeds Beckett University.

Mark's current research is in support of his Doctorate of Education. The aim and objective of the project is to gain an understanding into the reasons why students upon pre-registration nursing programmes fail to engage and use digital content for academic endeavour. The project was initiated in response to wider concerns about the quality of these, digital, environments and their relative use within nursing education.
