Steve Mole, CMIEH, MIOA, MIEM, FHEA is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner who specialises in acoustics and environmental protection. Steve leads teaching in acoustics, the control of noise, air pollution and other environmental issues on post graduate and undergraduate courses. In particular, Steve manages the delivery of the MSc in Acoustics and the Institute of Acoustics post graduate Diploma in Acoustics and Noise Control.
Steve has over 20 years' experience as an Environmental Health Practitioner in local government, covering all areas of Environmental Health, but for over 10 years' he specialised in the control of noise, air pollution and other aspects of environmental protection. During this time Steve helped to pioneer an innovative approach to a major local air pollution issue.
Steve has been able to use this experience in the development of vocational courses in Environmental Health and in Health, Safety and Environmental Management for the University. Steve has contributed to the development of partnerships with a franchise partnership with a higher education college in Singapore and a very successful partnership in providing education and training for military environmental health personnel for the Ministry of Defence.
In addition to being a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, Steve is also a corporate member of the Institute of Acoustics, a practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Steve represents the University to the Institute of Acoustics, in particular on their Tutors and Examiners Committee, which influences the Institute's policies and practices of their professional courses.
