Healthy body, healthy mind
Sport is a big deal at our University. Not only do world-class athletes like Jessica Ennis-Hill and Alistair Brownlee train here, we also provide loads of facilities including squash and tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a 3G pitch.
Whether you're a future sports champion or just in it for fun, we've something for you.
Spin, stretch, kick and kettle bell it out in one of our fitness classes. They run throughout the week at both campuses and are included in the cost of your membership (although you don't have to be a member to join a class).
If you're serious about competitive sport, our Athletic Union has 48 clubs and more than 50 teams that compete weekly in BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) tournaments.
In addition to this, our annual Varsity event spices things up with our friendly rivals at the University of Leeds, as teams from both unis go head to head over a whole day of competitive sport. We've won for the last nine years.
Fancy yourself as the next Arsene Wenger or Dave Brailsford? Our Carnegie Coach Education unit can provide you with a nationally-recognised qualification, and offers practical workshops led by experienced and passionate coaches.
There's no 'I' in team, but there's certainly a team you can get into. From weekly taster sessions, to friendly netball and football games, our teams are open to anyone regardless of ability. It's a great way to keep fit and keep social.
From just £125 per year, our sports membership is amazing value. With it, you'll access a huge range of quality facilities and classes across both campuses.
Our Sports Volunteering Programme is a great way to gain experience and skills by helping at local clubs.
With top-flight rugby league, Championship football, rugby union and both international and county cricket, Leeds is a city bursting with sport.
