Campus Card (Student and Staff ID Card)
What do I need my campus card for?
Your Campus Card (Student or Staff ID Card) is your key to accessing many services and facilities on campus.
Your Campus card is really important. You’ll need it to:
- Access both the Sheila Silver Library at City Campus and Headingley Library
- Use the Sports Centre and gym facilities
- Print and photocopy
- Access some buildings
- Prove your identity for examinations & collecting work
How do I get my Campus Card?
- If you are newly enrolled onto a course this year (first year of an undergraduate/postgraduate/part-time course)
- If you need to update the expiry date on your card
- If your card is faulty
- If you have had your card stolen (and have a crime reference number)
- If the University has deemed that your photo is no longer a true likeness of you
then you can request a new campus card via the campus card request form here:
You will be asked to provide a preferred UK address*. Postage for the campus card is free.
*Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to post to international addresses.
I have lost my campus card
If you have lost your card, then you will need to order a replacement. Replacement cards cost £10 and can be ordered via the Online Store below. If you have not used the Online Store before, you will need to register your student details
Student Campus Card FAQs
If you require a campus card, and do not have one, please complete the Campus Card Request form.
If you are living in Carnegie Village, you will receive a temporary card to access your halls of residence. If you are living in accommodation other than Carnegie Village, you do not need your campus card or a temporary card to access your building. This year, all students will have their campus card posted to their term time address in the first couple of weeks of January. If you have not received your campus card within this time, then please request a new card via the campus card request form linked above.
If you’re an international student, please see FAQ ‘I’m an international student, how/when will I receive my card?’.
If you are an international student travelling to the UK for study, you will be required to attend your ID and Visa check with Student Immigration, Advice and Compliance (SIAC), before you can receive your campus card.
Once you have attended your international check-in with SIAC, you can request your campus card via the International Student Campus Card Request form. Please note, we will not be able to produce your campus card until your ID and visa has been checked.
Apologies, we are unable to post campus cards to international addresses.
When our on-site Student Advice Hub Team produce your card to be posted, you can expect delivery within 5 working days.
If you require your card urgently, instead of completing the campus card request form, please contact the student advice hub on 0113 812 3000.
If you no longer look like your photo, we ask that you have a new campus card produced.
Complete a Campus Card Request form and ensure you select for your card to be posted to your preferred address. You will then be required to attach a new photo for your card.
If you would simply like to change your photo on your campus card, you will be required to pay £10 for a replacement card. You can do this via the Online Store.
Yes, all funds and building access details will transfer to the new card, however, your new card will take approximately 45 minutes to activate.
Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to offer student lanyards and card holders at this time. We will review this decision frequently and confirm when these materials will be available again.
If you have already requested a new card, and haven’t received it by post, please contact our Student Advice Hub Team who will be able to confirm when your card was issued: campuscard@leedsbeckett.ac.uk or call 0113 812 3000.
If your card no longer appears to work, you will be required to complete a Campus Card Request form and provide us with the number on the bottom right of the card, so that we can check that you're eligible for a free campus card replacement.
Staff Campus Cards FAQs
Any members of staff requiring a replacement staff ID card, are to email campuscard@leedsbeckett.ac.uk, confirming the following details:
Full name(s)
Login username (if known)
Preferred campus for collection
Your card will be left with Security on your preferred campus and available for collection the following working day*.
*There is a daily cut off time of 11.00 to allow for this collection time. E.g. if your request for a card is made at 10.00 on Monday, your campus card will be available from Tuesday. If you request a campus card at 12.45 on Monday, your card will be available for collection on Wednesday.
Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to post campus cards to staff home addresses.
If you are a new member of staff and intend to come onto campus, you will require a staff ID card (campus card) for services such as printing and accessing certain buildings. To request a card, please contact campuscard@leedsbeckett.ac.uk with the following information:
Full name(s)
Login username (if known)
Preferred campus for collection
A preferred photo for your card. This should be a passport style photo with no filters. Please also ensure that the photo is in a JPEG. format.
Your card will be left with Security on your preferred campus and available for collection the following working day*.
*There is a daily cut off time of 11.00 to allow for this collection time. E.g. if your request for a card is made at 10.00 on Monday, your campus card will be available from Tuesday. If you request a campus card at 12.45 on Monday, your card will be available for collection on Wednesday.
