Public Transport
Both our campuses and halls of residences are well connected by public transport.
The main City Campus buildings are between 2 and 14 mins walk from Leeds train station. Headingley campus is a 15 minute walk from Headingley train station and Headingley Carnegie Pavilion and Stand are a 12 and 8 minute walk from Headingley and Burley Park stations.
Both campuses have frequent bus services, including:
- The Leeds City Bus that links the bus and rail stations to our main City Campus (£1/journey).
- The 29 First Leeds bus services run between Leeds Student Village, Marsden House, Concept Place, City Campus, Sugarwell Court and Headingley Campus.
- The 29X operates at peak times via Hyde Park Corner and Headingley Arndale Centre.
It's £1 for a single fare on production of a valid student card. You can see further information about bus frequency and prices here.
Leeds City Bus provides a frequent service to Leeds Beckett City Campus from the rail and bus stations. Each journey costs £1 (or free if you have an MCard, Metrocard, MetroDay, Park and Ride ticket, Concessionary Pass or any West Yorkshire bus operator day or season ticket). All services are operated by fully accessible buses.
First Leeds offer tickets for students, as well as providing a bus service (29/29X) to and from Headingley Campus.

Bus timetables are also available from our Student Hubs on campus.
If you are likely to use different bus companies or travel by bus and train in West Yorkshire, find out what travel passes are available.
If you are only likely to use First buses, get discounted monthly or term tickets.
Students get a 1/3 discount on rail fares across the UK with a 16-25 railcard. Rail fares may be cheaper if you book in advance and directly through the operator's own website.
Fares and services can be found on the National Rail website.
Your Next Bus is Metro's bus departure times service, it uses GPS satellite technology to track the location of buses in West and South Yorkshire. This means you can find out the scheduled or real-time for any bus, at any stop or online. Text your bus stop number to 63876 and you'll get a reply within 30 seconds telling you when the next few buses are due. Your text is charged at your standard rate, and Metro's reply to you is charged at no more than 12p.
