Visiting Leeds Beckett University

Guest Wi-fi offers wireless access for guests of Leeds Beckett University.

Leeds Beckett University has upgraded the wireless service offered to students and staff, and this includes the service offered to guests for the University.

A new captive portal for the Guest Wi-Fi service has been developed and is available from June 2018.

Users can connect to Guest Wi-Fi by carrying out the following steps:

• When searching for the available wireless networks within range, select 'Guest Wi-Fi' and click connect.

• You will be presented with a captive portal page with space to enter both a username and password – you must first register for the service by selecting the ‘Register Here’ link.

• You will be redirected to a registration page to enter your name and email address.

• When you have submitted this information, an email will be sent to the address you specified with login credentials for the Guest Wi-Fi service.

• You can use these credentials to facilitate a connection to the service through the captive portal page.

Please note:

• Users will need to access their email to receive the login credentials – Guest Wi-Fi is not provided for this purpose so other means of accessing email should be used, such as use of mobile data or access to email via an internet enabled PC on University campus.

• A Guest Wi-Fi session lasts for 8 hours, at which point users will need to re-register to access another 8-hour session.

The Terms of Use for the Leeds Beckett Wi-Fi can be accessed here

For further assistance you can visit the Advice Points in the City Campus and Headingley Campus libraries.
