COLLABORATIVE ACTIVITY
Creating and building a course community between both staff and students can be done in a formal setting through group work or residential activities where tasks are clearly laid out for students to interact with each other.
It can also be undertake in more informal settings such as mixed social events or setting up optional discussion or journal groups. Also important in building a community is allowing students to provide feedback on their peer through structured peer assessment but also being able to access personalised feedback from the tutor. Staff should provide students with clear times when they are available to speak with and gain feedback from to build a community where dialogue is valued and trusted.
