New to teaching
This section of resources is aimed at staff who are new to teaching at Leeds Beckett or those are taking on a teaching responsibility for the first time.
The content on these pages is modified from the Leeds Beckett book 'In at the Deep End' book written by Phil Race.
Teaching is more than just knowing your stuff, it can include giving lectures, running lab classes, taking tutorials, assessing student work, giving feedback and being an academic advisor.
This can be scary especially when you may have experienced all these activities as a student but do not know where to begin in delivering it. The first thing to think about is where to get support and guidance as you begin the process of teaching.
There is a wide range of development opportunities on offer throughout the year provided by a number of our Professional Services which can be accessed on the Training and Development page.
You can access a copy of the e-book 'In at the Deep End' via the library catalogue.
