Sports and Exercise Therapy

Entry requirements

Applicants should either have at least a second class honours degree in Sport and Exercise Science or other cognate degree subject; or at least a second class honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. Applicants for this course are not usually interviewed. Therefore, it is important you demonstrate evidence of the following in your personal statement:

  • An understanding of the scope of practice of a Sport Therapist
  • Evidence of prior learning in sports and exercise science
  • Evidence of excellent communication skills
  • Evidence of self-directed study
  • Evidence of the ability to work as part of a team
  • Evidence of the ability to integrate information & skills across different subject areas
  • Evidence of recent personal/academic development (normally within the past 5 years)

DBS Check

Satisfactory enhanced criminal history checks will be required by all applicants prior to acceptance on the course, (processed through the University only). The University is unable to accept DBS checks obtained through another institution (this includes those registered with the DBS Update Service); the checks undertaken by the University are appropriate to the course of study and relevant regulated activity placements.
